Description

  • Ensures that all operations are conducted in accordance with all existing federal, state, local, corporate, and EHS operating policies and procedures, including site inspection and interfacing with regulatory personnel including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, DOT, Health Department and other varied local, state and federal government officials.

  • Create and manage a database for all regulatory permits and related documents.

  • Identify, recommend and drives change and improvement in facility operation, policies and procedures.

  • Develop standard protocols to conduct routine inspections and audits to assure continued compliance with site environmental requirements, commitments and procedures.

  • Lead the investigation of any facility deviations and coordinate the development of action plans.

  • Oversee the preparation of all required routine and non-routine environmental documentation and reports to corporate and regulatory agencies.

  • Oversight of all aspects of the company’s recycling, solid, hazardous, bio-hazardous, and universal waste programs.

  • Special projects; serving on various local, state and national professional committees and maintaining community and regulatory relationships.

  • Direct and oversee property conservation issues, project review, emergency planning and business resumption initiatives, and coordination environmental issues.

  • Develop and support necessary training initiatives with preparation, presentation of required environmental training and training programs.

  • Oversight of Emergency Response Team training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in safety, environmental or other related disciplines.

  • Proficient with Environmental and or Safety regulations. Minimum 3 years’ experience preferred. A preference of Environmental or Safety experiences may occur based on local needs.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills, a comfort level with change, and the ability to lead change.

  • Ability to collaboratively work with all levels of the organization.

  • Effective decision making and a willingness to use available resources to accomplish goals.

  • Acts with integrity in all EHS&S matters to maintain EHS&S compliance and excellence.

  • Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills.

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
