This is a key internal leadership role, reporting directly to the VP,Communications.This director leads allcompany-wide employee communications, engaging our 18,000 colleagues acrossmore than 50 facilities.The idealcandidate will:
Be passionateabout our work as communicators
Translate ourbusiness into proactive, positive storytelling to drive employee engagement
Liaise directlywith senior leaders, including our North America President, VP of Legal &Corporate Affairs, VP of Human Resources, and the broader U.S. management team
Move quickly andfeel comfortable leading significant announcements / projects within a largebut fairly flat organization
Understand how toget things done in a large, matrixed organization
Be able to movequickly to respond to day-to-day business needs
The day-to-day responsibilities of the directorinclude:
Lead thedevelopment/refinement, execution and measurement of the internalcommunications strategy
Work with the fullcommunications team to ensure our company strategy and narrative is understoodacross the company
Lead key company“moments”, including:
Quarterly TownHall meetings
Work with our HRteam and other functions to provide change management communications, as needed
Provide executivepositioning support to the VP, Human Resources
Develop / overseethe development of core communications materials, including:
Key messages /talking points
Copywriting forinternal platforms e.g. weekly newsletter, AB television
Supervise agency partners to develop corematerials, as listed above
Supervise agency partners, and internal partners tocreate (or repurpose) compelling creative assets
Coordinate withthe global communications team to launch a new communications social platform forAB employees
Coordinate with internaldepartments (sales, marketing, HR, IT, etc.) and our global colleagues to ensureinternal alignment
Support the HRteam with people-focused announcements and messaging e.g. review of benefitsannouncements
Coordinate with HR re. employer brandingstrategy and execution, ensuring seamless alignment
Ensure that key internal channels are updatede.g. weekly newsletter, intranet, company app, TV screens
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or related field.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in communications, public relations or marketing.
Strong written, verbal and visual communications skills.
Consumer packaged goods experience (in-house or agency) preferred.
Management experience (managing vendors and/or direct reports) preferred.
Creative, resourceful and self-motivated with passion for solving problems.
Comfortable working closely with senior executives with poise and professionalism.
Energetic, positive and optimistic approach to work.
Ability to manage multiple assignments, requests and deadlines while staying cool under pressure and maintaining a positive attitude
