Job Description:

  • Proactively work to enhance controls and process efficiencies in existing operations and new activities. Provide advice and counsel on existing operations and new activities. Provide advice and counsel on new processes and business units to ensure proper controls. Define KPIs to help track control compliance and undertake analytics to help define controls.

  • Work with North America Zone and GHQ management and process owners to ensure completion of Sarbanes-Oxley attestation for critical financial controls for each calendar year.

  • Lead business units and department in assessing compliance with GHQ policies and assist with bringing into compliance

  • Key Liaison between external and auditors/business units Partner with business unit management to ensure any changes made to key financial, operational, and IT processes do not adversely affect internal control requirements.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively the Internal Control team's approach, current status and testing results to management, process owners and to the internal/external auditors

  • Execute special projects as requested including participation in system upgrades to ensure proper controls are maintained

  • Depending on candidate background, may participate in some Financial Reporting activities.

Job Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required. MBA or Advanced degree preferred

  • Certification preferred: CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an audit (internal or external), internal control & compliance, accounting or operational capacity

  • Experience with SOX 404, COSO, Corporate Governance, and internal control evaluations (including phases of planning, evaluation, documentation, testing and remediation) preferred

  • Demonstrated effective communication (oral and written) and project management skills

  • Requires ability to influence others in a professional and diplomatic manner. Demonstrated capability to work with all levels of management

  • Belt/Lean certification preferred

  • Ability to map processes, assess control gaps and recommend solutions

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and effectively prioritize projects
