SALARY : $25.00-$35.00 per hour (annual wages up to $75,000-$85,000 including overtime, shift premiums, and bonus)

ROLE SUMMARY :

The Elevator Supervisor ensures adherence to company policies and procedures. The Supervisor oversees Grain Quality Analysis, sanitation, hazardous chemical management, safety compliance, facility maintenance, grain handling, and inventory control.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure adherence of VPO principles, company policies and procedures, and SOP evaluations.

  • Grain Quality Analysis – follow standard operating procedures and perform quality testing in lab. Monitor incoming/outgoing loads to ensure company specifications are met; communicate daily with manager/buyer/lab staff regarding potential issues or areas of concern.

  • Sanitation – perform daily work to maintain a clean and safe facility that meets corporate and OSHA requirements. Maintain required records of daily/monthly sanitation and inspections.

  • Hazardous Chemical management – maintain certification with state licensing requirements to perform pesticide and herbicide control at facility. Maintain required records of applications & usage for facility.

  • Safety – ensure compliance with all applicable safety policies and procedures following corporate guidelines and OSHA rules. Maintain required records of safety trainings, incidents, etc

  • Facility maintenance – perform and direct routine facility maintenance duties including repair of grain handling equipment (i.e. legs, gates, distributors, car puller, rail tracks, PLC equipment, etc.), landscaping, snow removal, etc. Maintain required records of maintenance within facility

  • Grain Handling – perform and direct daily safe grain loading and unloading of trucks and railcars through the use of PLC program to operate facility equipment. Maintain required records of inventory movements within facility.

  • Inventory Control – monitor quality and perform aeration & fumigation of stored inventory by following safe practices & maintaining required records. Monitor storage utilization, schedule dust load outs, and perform bin measurements monthly and as needed. Maintain required records of aeration and fumigation within facility. Communicate daily with manager/buyer/lab & admin staff regarding scheduling & management of inventory.

  • Pesticide Licensing & HACCP/Food Safety Certification to be attained.

  • Strong computer and communication skills

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.

  • Must be able to work at heights of 150 feet and lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Prefer 4-5 years of grain handling experience
